This game was fantastic, I was not expecting any horror aspect to the game but it delivered. I love how after meeting the cat, things get serious, the design from the background to the characters was really good, in fact I found myself loving the wolf alot more than red herself. It is a really well made game and now that I know there is another game coming up, I cannot wait to play that as well.

Advantages: 1. The story is very cool! I like the darker approaches to the fairytales a lot and I absolutely loved this version! Also, the game has 2 endings which is very nice as well) 2. The style of the game is absolutely incredible! The wolf is art. 3. It's free! C'mon, just play the game, it's amazing, I promise!
Disadvantages: 1. I feel like if the map would circle around it would be much nicer as it wouldn't take as long to get from one part of the map to another. The mechanics are pretty simple so there's only so much time when they keep being entertaining and I feel that running from one side to another for 40 minutes really tests the patience. But I mean, it prolongues the gameplay a bit and the game is free so I can't really whine about anything)
Overall: Just play the game, it's awesome! I rate it 9 red hoods / 10 (officially 5/5 stars on itch). I really wish to see more similar games! That was incredible! Thanks for taking your time to read this comment till the end, have an incredible day! <3
If I had a nickle for every time a cat spoke to me in unbroken english while I was on a quest for vengeance against an animal that killed my grandma...I'd be very confused.
Wanted to let people know that we fixed the bug with collecting the wolf fur multiple times and not being able to finish the game if the potion is mixed wrong
I enjoyed this game. The art is really cool, I especially enjoy the wolf character. My only thing is that if you get the recipe wrong there's a glitch where you keep the wolf's fur and can't go back into the cave or complete the ritual. I had to play the game again but, other than that it was okay.
Literally bypassed the middle man and directly to the stomach I go! haha I absolutely loved this game! The story, the characters, the design, the mechanics, the RED! All of it wrapped up in a little red package. Kudos to all that worked on this, and I am now following for when the next development is released!

In order to do a mac build that won't be seen as a corrupted file, we need to have the app notarized, which none of us know how to do at the moment. I looked into it, and it seems like a convoluted process. I hope Apple changes how they handle non-notarized apps in the future. Sorry.

This was a really cool game! The graphics were stunning, and I loved looking at the trees in the background while running. The puzzles weren't extremely difficult, and running from the wolf was thrilling (in a good way!) I liked that it was a side-scroller, since it just fit the overall aesthetic. My only complaint is that the cave is a bit too long and boring to make your way through, but that's very minor and doesn't harm the good of the game overall. The story itself was also a nice twist, as it extends on the original while maintaining its own uniqueness. Super awesome!

I absolutely loved playing this game! I really like the concept and the style of the game! Sadly at the end the game must've bugged out or something, because after I messed up the potion and died I couldn't go back into the cave again or perform the ritual. None the less, fantastic game!!
Thanks for the kind words. Try downloading the updated version. That should fix the problem where you can't go into the cave again after mixing the potion wrong.
The directional sound for the wolf took a while to get the intricacies right. Nice to know people appreciated it. Thanks for making a video of our game.
I really liked it but found a bug. If you were to mess the potion up, you'll die, get kicked back to where you mix the potion. However, you'll have the wolf's hair in your inventory and the potion. After I mixed the mistake, I went back to the Wolf's den but nothing happened. I couldn't even get inside the cave. Just thought you guys should know. Great game though and I wish you all the best :)
happened to me too. i still have wolf hair, and i got the potion right this time **i think** but im not able to put it in the bowl, hugeee disappointment that i have to start over

edit : ok, on the new version, if you get the potion wrong, you get back to a point just before you started mixing the ingredients.
This game was great even though I derped and it took me awhile to get through. I really loved the artstyle , especially the cat's design and the way the forest was done. The only issue I had was it felt like the wolf took forever to show up after the initial howl when I was trying to hide. I think this was more of a me being impatient problem and not something with the game itself. Overall, awesome work and can't wait to see more games from your team.
Okay, I have tried uploading the mac version several different ways, and several different times. Nothing seems to work. When I play the file on my computer, everything works like a charm. When I upload to itch.io then download it, it always tells me that the file is corrupted. I think this is a problem with itch, and I will be contacting their support team. Thanks for bringing this to my attention
This was a very well put together game! The art style is very cool, and the story unfolds in a believable way. I love the little twist at the end as well! I only managed to get 1 ending, but I really enjoyed playing this!
The very first think that pops to mind is the music. I really liked the music choices and I found myself writing down several tallies for music. The art is what made me click on this game and I'm so glad I downloaded it and tried it out. This art style is very interesting I would really like to see more of this rather it be more "fairy tales" of just these fantastically beasts (Bottom Face Toads lol...). This story was nice and refreshing and I didn't have to try very hard to get into it. And I really like Ascat ( that was the point but whatever you got me lol). The tittle screen and ending screens are very nice as well, and satisfying for what ending you got. Ok I said a lot of good so here is a little bad (The bad isn't all that bad in this case since it's first game jam and because of the basic primis but anyway). How basic this game is. Now hold on that's not entirely a bad thing especailly since this more so story driven, but the with some off these other cons they kinda work against each other. I'm not a big fan of back tracking unless something changes along the way so it kinda feels like filler that makes also how long some of the transition scenes (the ones where the wolf can come) feel longer. And lastly the puzzles I think that adding something like this to your games is a really good idea and it helps break up the monotony of "run here get idea" repeat. I just think the average time to beat needs to be a little shorter (or maybe I'm dumb lol). You spend a little to much time away form the story. This game is great, I actually sat down and took notes on this. Would recommend...

I really really really liked this, that's why I went out of my way to say all of this I actually took some noted and really thought about the game (during the game analysis) that I was talking for like 10 mins lol. Followed I can't wait to see more. GGs Keep It Up...
